WELCOME - 2025 Summer Theatre Boot Camp

SUMMER THEATRE BOOT CAMP 2025

Hello Everybody!

It is almost time for our annual Summer Theatre Boot Camp! We are looking forward to seeing you all in just a few days!!

We would like to gather a little more information from you. We will be doing that at our first rehearsal. Our goal in this camp is to meet you where you are and build on our skills from there. Not everybody will be at the same level or have the same end goals at that is perfectly fine!

Below is some important information regarding camp.

  • Every person involved in this camp is expected to RESPECT ALL involved in this process. Sometimes we will ask you to step out of your comfort zone as we work on growing as performers. OLSH Theatre will always be a safe place for you to do that. We expect you to be respectful, engaged, kind, supportive, and honest in all activities. We are a family, and we must work together. If there is an issue, please share your concerns with Ms Manuel.
  • Our main means of communication will be the OLSH Theatre Blog. This is the first place to go for schedules, questions regarding rehearsal, what to bring with you, what to wear, etc, etc, etc. We will also keep an abbreviated version of this schedule on the OLSH Theatre Facebook Page. Please 'like" the page to keep up to date and also see posts and photos from rehearsals.
  • Camp runs two weeks and will begin on Monday, June 16th from 5:00 - 8:00 pm. Specific dates and times will be on the blog if we have any special rehearsal calls.
  • We will have TWO performances on the Fridays of camp.  These will be evening performances. We will remain at camp each Friday, eat dinner as a group, and then prepare for our show. Some of the elements of the show will be the same each week and some will be new/different material. More info will come out next week.
  • We will finalize our script after the first few days of camp. Some of you are new to us, so we want to see what you can do. There will be an audition, but PLEASE DON'T PANIC. There will be plenty to do for all involved.
  • If you have any friends interested in attending camp, please let me know ASAP. We have a few spaces open. The cutoff is 30 students and we are close to that. Friends of OLSH students (entering grade 9 and up) are welcome to attend, but I need to have everything finalized by Monday (first day of camp).
  • Please bring a water bottle, 3 ring binder, and pencil to every rehearsal. You may also want a highlighter.
  • Please wear comfortable and school appropriate clothing that you can move in. The auditorium gets warm, so shorts and tee shirts are great. If you want to wear a modest tank top, that is fine. Just please remember that we are rehearsing in school. If you have dance shoes please bring them. If not, tennis shoes will work. NO flip flops, slides, or sandals on stage.

I think that is everything for now. We are looking forward to working with you. Be prepared to learn a lot, work hard, and have a great time!

Best Regards,

Ms Manuel and The OLSH Theatre Production Team

https://olshtheatreblog.blogspot.com/
  • Session One begins Monday, June 16th. Rehearsals will be from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm. Please do NOT drop off your child(ren) before 8:45, as we will be preparing for camp prior to that time. Please make sure to pick up promptly, as we have another camp coming in after Mini Camp.
  • Session Two begins Monday, June 23rd. Rehearsals will be from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm. Please do NOT drop off your child(ren) before 8:45 am, as we will be preparing for camp prior to that time. Please make sure to pick up promptly, as we have another camp coming in after Mini Camp.
  • Both camps will end on Friday of their respective weeks. We invite you to attend a showcase style performance on Friday beginning at 11:00 am. More information will come out during the week of camp.
    • If you have any friends interested in attending camp, please let me know ASAP. We need to order camp tee shirts now, so don't delay! Students may attend BOTH weeks of camp, or only one.
    • Please send a water bottle, small snack, 3 ring binder, pencil, and highlighter to every rehearsal.
    • We offer a "Snack Cart" to students that are interested. Juice boxes, water, goldfish, pretzels, crackers, etc (concession items) will be available for $1.00 - $2.00 per item. Our High School Theatre students are running the cart this year to fundraise for a trip to perform in Scotland in 2026! You are under no obligation to purchase anything, but if you want your child to be able to buy a snack, please send them with small bills.
    • Please wear comfortable and school appropriate clothing that you can move in. The auditorium gets warm, so shorts and tee shirts are great. If you want to wear a modest tank top, that is fine. If you have dance shoes (jazz or ballet) please bring them. If not, tennis shoes will work. NO flip flops, slides, or sandals on stage.

This year, we are inviting our campers to perform ONE of the songs they learn in our Pelican Players Summer Community Theatre show "A Year with Frog and Toad". More information will be coming soon, but save the performance dates of July 11th and 12th. This is NOT required, but we hope you can participate! Friends and families are also welcome to audition. You will see more information on the OLSH Theatre Blog.

Make sure to ask your child what they learned each day. They will need to practice and memorize some materials at home, so please let them entertain you!

I think that is everything for now. We are looking forward to working with your child(ren)!

    Best Regards,

Ms Manuel and The OLSH Theatre Production Team
