How to Write a Musical Bio 

• Include your name and role(s)

  • List your character, ensemble, and/or crew position.

  • Also give your current grade. Use senior, junior, sophomore, freshman.

• Mention relevant theatre experience

  • Previous school, community, or outside productions.

  • If this is your first show, you can state that.

• Add personal details

  • School activities, sports, interests, hobbies, other skills (school-appropriate).

• Optional: acknowledgments

  • Brief thanks to directors, cast, crew, family, or friends.

• Write in third person

  • Use he/she, not “I.”

• Length requirement

  • Maximum 100 words.

  • Aim for 3–5 sentences.

• Tone and content

  • Clear, professional, and appropriate for all audiences.

  • No inside jokes.

• Proofread before submitting

  • Check spelling, grammar, and accuracy.
